Cranberry Fest is a great reason to plan a fall getaway to the Northwoods. The event is held October 3–4, 2026, at the Vilas County Fairgrounds in Eagle River.
And yes—there are cranberries everywhere! But Cranberry Fest is about so much more than cranberries.
Think crisp autumn air, colorful trees, homemade goodies, shopping, music, outdoor activities and plenty of delicious ways to enjoy Wisconsin’s favorite little red berry.

Take a Cranberry Marsh Tour
One of the most unique experiences during Cranberry Fest weekend is a cranberry marsh tour. Visitors can see how cranberries are harvested and learn what happens when cranberry beds are flooded during harvest. Reservations are strongly encouraged.

Get Outside for the Cranberry Walk/Run
Want to work off some of those cranberry treats? The Cranberry Walk/Run is another fun way to get outside and enjoy the crisp fall air and beautiful Northwoods scenery.

Don’t Forget the Fall Colors!
One of the best reasons to visit during Cranberry Fest might be what’s happening outside the festival grounds. Take a scenic drive. Walk a trail. Find a quiet lake. Stop at a cranberry marsh. Grab a cup of coffee and take in the colors.

Make It a Fall Getaway
Why make Cranberry Fest just a day trip? Turn it into a Northwoods fall weekend. Spend the day at the festival, take a cranberry marsh tour, enjoy the fall colors, grab dinner somewhere local and then come back to your cozy vacation rental and relax.
Wake up the next morning, have a cup of coffee and enjoy another beautiful day in the Northwoods.
